Face Off
An intimate video of the face and all its imperfections, striking a balance between the sexual and grotesque. Viewers first see the video from afar and then enter a small room where they are invited to sit on a red velvet chair behind the curtains and directly in front of the projection. Enhanced by sound, the video unfolds as the sexually charged close-ups of a woman’s face become more and more intimate, revealing large pores and numerous craters in her skin. She then proceeds to rub the make-up on her face off on a piece of paper, which is exhibited behind the curtains in a gold frame.
